About the #

#kuwtp

What do you get when you mix a long road trip, a cellular device, photo ops, a teen, and social media?  - a hashtag!

I absolutely love my family and am thrilled that they all love our family too!  My oldest one of three is an active Twitterite (is that even a word?) and she birthed #kuwtp as she quickly assigned it to an Instagram photo.  Ever afraid of being associated with some type of social media shame, I instantly inquired to its meaning.  "Ma," she says, "it means Keeping Up With The Pattersons."

Suddenly, it hit me.  All these years I've been taking photos - photos of birthdays, photos of sports, photos of injuries, photos of life events, just simply photos of our lives.  I have tons of photos but no organized presentation of them - few albums, very few of them even printed, some hanging on walls, but really a majority of them are just sitting beside me in nothing more than a labeled folder in my external hard drive.

So, I was compelled - compelled to make them more than a digital file in a folder on a hard drive. Compelled to make them into our story - bring them to life, our life.  And while even though as much as I want to think I will be a great scrapbooker, I'm not. But what I am good (or semi-good) at is writing, taking photographs, and using technology.  What I am best at - well that's easy - it's loving this absolutely, positively, sometimes crazy life with the four amazing people and one dog that make up my family.

Oh, how I wish I had started so long ago - but punctuality isn't my strong suit. So I'm starting now. I want my kiddos to remember all the stuff of our lives. Here is our digital scrapbook, our family history to look back upon and laugh and cry and see ugly hairstyles.

Here it is, our story - #kuwtp
